The Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center is located next to the Student Aquatic Center, which served as Tennessee's previous home pool.

With the new facility, Tennessee now has two indoor 50-meter pools, two indoor diving wells and an outdoor 50-meter pool with a diving well. These facilities combine to give Tennessee one of the top aquatic centers in the country.

About Allan Jones

The facility is named in honor of Allan Jones, who made a $4 million challenge gift as part of Tennessee's STEP UP Capital Campaign for athletic facilities.

W. Allan Jones, a native of Cleveland, TN, began working in his family's Credit Bureau business at the age of 20 while a student at MTSU. After nearly 25 years he sold the business, and in 1993, Jones established Check Into Cash, a payday advance company that now has more than 1270 locations in 32 states.

In addition to serving as Chairman and CEO of Check Into Cash, Inc., Jones is also Chairman of Jones Management Services, LLC, which provides management and administrative services to his many different businesses including The Village Green Town Center, The Bald Headed Bistro, Crescent H Guest Ranch in Jackson Hole, The Spot Restaurant and The Village Bake Shop. Pawn Shops of America and Buy Here Pay Here USA are the newest additions to Jones' family of companies. Another of his ventures, Jones Properties, LLC, owns numerous historic, commercial and residential buildings in downtown Cleveland.

Jones serves on a number of community boards and in several capacities with the University of Tennessee, both at Knoxville and Chattanooga. He was awarded the City of Cleveland's highest business honor, the M.C. Headrick Free Enterprise Award, given by the Chamber of Commerce. He was inducted into the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2003.

All facilities and facilities projects at the University of Tennessee are supported by donations to the Tennessee Fund and season tickets.
